Leading to Learn

Accelerator

Part book study, part guided learning program with Katie Anderson… take the lessons off the page and into your life with the Leading to Learn Accelerator Foundations.

Learn to be a more intentional, people-centered leader, and build a meaningful legacy.

To the continuously learning leader who’s feeling the pressure to deliver business outcomes…have all the answers to all the questions…to create time for the important people in your life and for yourself…while also trying to figure out what success in your career really looks like to you:

What if, you stopped being everything to everyone, and instead implemented one simple practice after the next to make the impact your heart is aligned with for…day after day after day?

Here’s why simple practices are your best bet:

If you’re facing a challenge, or you feel like you’re spinning in an endless cycle of problems and competing priorities, taking real, tangible and focused action that moves you from simply reacting, to acting….with purpose.

And when you know your purpose, you respond with higher awareness.

You see, it’s easy to believe that to be a great leader or coach you have to be the expert in the room with all the answers.

But, what if that belief is not true?

Not only is it not true, it’s also not helpful, because ultimately it leads to you putting out all the fires and completing urgent tasks instead of using your problem-solving skills and your time to address the most impactful challenges to develop people.

Right?

If there’s even a tiny part of you that sees that and says, “That makes total sense,” then keep reading, because what follows could EASILY be the most pivotal moment in your career - the one where you form a crystal clear picture about what you want for your work and your life; the one that finally cements the connection, joy, community and energy that you’re looking for.

Leading to Learn Accelerator withKatie Anderson

Here’s why you’re probably feeling overwhelmed, disillusioned, and a general lack of energy and joy in your work:

There is too much focus on business outcomes….and you are exhausted from trying to address too many priorities

You have a formal leadership title and you aren’t sure just HOW to have the impact you desire, or you feel like you need a formal title to be a leader with influence

Everyone around you is concentrating on the tools and templates….while not understanding their purpose

You and your teams are working on the same problem year after year….and not making any sustainable progress

You believe people-centered leadership is important …. but it feels complicated and you just don’t know HOW it’s done

This should be an exciting time for you.

After years of learning and growing…

You’ve earned the right to have a career and a life that makes you excited to get out of bed every single morning…

You deserve a connection to purpose

You deserve to feel connected to and joyful about your work…

And you absolutely deserve to be able to harness your innate curiosity for learning, your caring for people, and make an impact on the world.

Instead…

You feel like you’re not allowed to make mistakes and fail, and that if you do it’s a problem…

It feels like you’re burned out just by being alive (because there’s so much to do and pressure on you to have all the answers, all the time)…

Intellectually you’re thinking “surely it’s okay to fail and make mistakes” but you can’t stop blaming yourself when that actually happens.

The secret to truly being a more people-centered leader who grows those around them:

Unburdening yourself from the idea of having to have all the answers, all the time.

Imagine what would happen around you if you let go of the belief that it’s your job to deliver knowledge…and instead began to understand that your role is to create the conditions  and space for learning.

Imagine what would happen if you said to your people, “Hey…I’ve decided to do some work on myself, on my own purpose, on my own intentions…”

Can you imagine the impact that would have on the people around you…

Can you imagine the seed of humanity it would plant?

The secret to truly being a more people-centered leader who grows those around them:

Unburdening yourself from the idea of having to have all the answers, all the time.

Imagine what would happen around you if you let go of the belief that it’s your job to deliver knowledge…and instead began to understand that your role is to create the conditions  and space for learning.

Imagine what would happen if you said to your people, “Hey…I’ve decided to do some work on myself, on my own purpose, on my own intentions…”

Can you imagine the impact that would have on the people around you…

Can you imagine the seed of humanity it would plant?

Here are a few reasons why perhaps you haven’t considered this, or you’re hesitant to choose this route:

1

You’ve been led to believe that to solve complex problems or lead a team in continuous improvement, that you need a Lean Six-Sigma Master Black Belt or some other complex certification process

You don’t. Simple, purposeful practices can have a tremendous impact.

2

You don’t have a leadership title or you just don’t think it’s your place to “lead” anyone.

What if you thought about it less as leadership, and more as providing direction and nurturing and providing support to those around you, regardless of your formal title or their role?

3

Or if you do have a leadership role, you’re worried that showing this kind of vulnerability, not having all the answers, or knowing exactly HOW to lead effectively is a sign of weakness and you might lose the respect of the people around you.

But what if you’re wrong about that? What if, by showing your own humanness, your challenges, your successes, and your opportunities to improve, on the other side of this is a more fulfilling experience where people begin to engage human to human, instead of role to role?

Intention = Heart + Direction

The number one trait great leaders share?

They are connected to their purpose, and they invest in the humanity of themselves and those around them. They lead with care, curiosity, and courage.  They lead with intention.

I’m Katie Anderson, internationally recognized leadership and learning coach, consultant, and bestselling author and this is what I believe:

Intentional leadership is one of the most powerful ways to nurture transformation and discovery in yourself and your people, as they learn, grow, develop and succeed, while your business achieves significant results.

Rediscover your excitement:

Think back to when you landed that job, or decided that this was the path you wanted to take, or changed career paths…you were excited. There was so much opportunity. Let’s get back in touch with that feeling.

What will this translate to in your every day?

Ultimately, this Accelerator provides you with the focus to successfully navigate the leadership and coaching continuums of:

When to ask and when to tell

When to be an expert and when to be a coach

How to provide both challenges and support as people are learning

How to achieve business results while developing people at the same time

It teaches you tangible skills so you can…

Accelerate your organization to success and deliver tangible outcomes

Become the leader your team wants to follow and the coach your team needs

Focus on ongoing learning for yourself while developing your people

The way you view your relationships and your work will change.

A strong connection will begin to develop between you and those around you.

This is how you develop your Chain of Learning.

And, perhaps most important of all, your purpose in life will become clear…and it will be connected to every single thing that you do.

“It’s like I have a Superpower that no one knows about…and it’s so simple.”

Shawn Carner

"Before the Accelerator program, I found myself often frustrated with the some undesired results of my actions and did not understand clearly my role as a leader. After the Accelerator, I learned to follow the leader's role to 1) Set the direction, 2) Provide support, and 3) Improve myself. This program gave me deeper meaning to learn my purpose in my personal and professional life as well as a human being on Earth.. I now feel empowered to lead with intention, and confident on my ability to create patterns of behavior to support my team and our organization."

Let’s go a little deeper…

Program Structure

Your learning experience in the Leading to Learn Accelerator is structured into five modules that follow the flow of learning topics in the book Learning to Lead, Leading to Learn. Each module is focused on select portions of the book, an exercise in the workbook, and supplementary concepts introduced by Katie Anderson in the recorded lessons and materials.

MODULE 1:
INTENTION = HEART + DIRECTION

Start with the foundations of purpose, intention, and reflection. Deepen your understanding of your purpose, both the known and discovered dimensions of your life. Set your intention for your leadership learning journey and the tangible outcomes you want to achieve. Establish a daily habit of reflection, which will be the foundation for your leadership acceleration.

MODULE 2:
THE LEADING TO LEARN FRAMEWORK

Explore the Leading to Learn Framework and identify the actions you can take as a leader to create a people-centered learning culture. Learn how to navigate Leadership Continuums of knowing when to ask and when to tell, how to challenge and nurture, and how to develop people while achieving business results. Discover how to ask more effective questions to accelerate learning and not have to be the expert with all the answers.

MODULE 3:
YOUR PRIORITY CHALLENGE

Clarify your responsibility and challenge as a leader. Define your top organizational priority goal and the process of how you will personally support your team to achieve it. Learn how to define a problem. Discuss what it takes to change organizational culture.

MODULE 4:
YOUR LEADERSHIP CREDO

Define the principles and practices that define who you are as a leader, the culture you want to create, and the legacy you want to leave. Document your Leadership Credo to share with your team. Explore the power of mindset and how to foster creativity and innovation.

MODULE 5:
YOUR PERSONAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Develop your personal improvement plan and define your next steps, situating you for ongoing success as you continue to accelerate as an intentional leader to develop your "chain of learning". Discuss the importance of learning from failure and success, the power of perseverance, and the value of reflection being the beginning, not the end, of learning.

"Katie helps you see yourself, and know where to grow. She knows how to challenge you to move beyond where you are. She doesn't set your path but she guides you toward identifying and moving forward on your path, and she makes you feel special because her path crosses yours. She doesn't pull you or shove you, but she empowers you to WANT to move. She doesn't offer a quick fix or a guaranteed route to success. She teaches you simple, logical tools that each of us can practice one day at a time to live the life we want to live, no matter what that looks like for any of us. Her stories, wisdom, insight, and expertise are applicable to anyone who believes, 'Stagnation isn't for me.' Katie has been a transformative power in my life, and working with her will yield WAY more than 60 days of value."

" Lean can be very tools oriented but [Katie] brings a lot more of the people side of things: how people interact and how you can get things done with other people. [She] brings a lot of humanity to it. And that’s a great feature."
